Product Care & Maintenance
Neoprene
- Use fresh water and your choice of the cleaning and soap products available on the market specifically designed for neoprene. Wash and rinse both the inside and outside of your wetsuit, hood, gloves, and booties after your last dive.
- Lubricate the zippers on your wetsuit and booties with wax specially designed for diving gear.
- Don’t pack any neoprene gear away until it’s thoroughly dry. This also helps prevent odors and mold.
- When traveling or storing your wetsuit for short periods, it’s best to roll it up rather than folding it. Folding can lead to creases in the neoprene which makes it uncomfortable.
Drysuits
- Rinse in fresh water and dry in a shady place.
- Keep any debris away from your dry zip. If it gets dirty, please use a smooth brush (toothbrush) and clean gently.
- Lubricate your zipper regularly, every five to ten dives, depending on the degree of contamination.
- Store with closed zip in a cool and dry area.
- Register your product for our warranty program.
Thermal Skins, Undergarments & Lingerie
- Hand wash in cold water
- Line dry
- Do not bleach
- Do not iron
- Do not dry clean
- Wash after use to remove residual chlorine or salt
- Keep out of the sun when not in use
Regulators, Instruments & Computers
- Your regulator needs to be thoroughly rinsed off in fresh water, but the internals are vulnerable to damage if exposed to moisture.
- Before you start on the regulator, use compressed air to shoot any moisture out of the dust cap. Then secure the dust cap to the regulator. Don’t soak the first stage, just rinse in fresh water. This prevents water seeping past the dust cap.
- Alternatively, you can submerge the regulator with the first stage attached to a pressurized cylinder to prevent water from entering the unit.
- After rinsing the regulator, allowing it to dry off completely by hanging it. It’s safe to store once it’s completely dry.
Masks, Fins & Snorkels
- As with all your other gear, your mask and fins should be rinsed after each dive using fresh water. Let these dry off completely away from the sun before storing.
- Your mask should be stored on its own in a hard case. This protects the lenses from scratching and the silicone skirt from becoming distorted.
- Once the fins are dry, you can use the inserts to help maintain the shape of the foot pocket during storage. Never store fins by standing them on their tips as this causes damage.
BCD's
- If you want to keep your BCD in good shape, you need to pay careful attention to both the exterior and interior of the device. Saltwater can leak into your BCD while diving through the low-pressure inflator and dump valves.
- Rinse the exterior of your BCD with fresh water first, then drain the interior. Flush as much fresh water into the bladder as possible through the inflator valve. It is much easier to do this if you hold the deflate button. Orally inflate the BCD and shake it to circulate the water inside, making sure the water gets to each part of the jacket. Let the water drain out through the dump values, then rinse these. Repeat the whole process.
- Pull the deflate cord and drain the water through the dump valves. Inflate the BCD and deflate it as quickly as you can to push out as much water as you can. Before storing, partially inflate the BC to prevent the inside pieces from sticking together.
- By giving it a good rinse and flushing it with fresh water after each dive and making sure it’s serviced annually, you will keep your Buoyancy Compensator working exactly as it should for many years.
Dive Lights
- Rinse the dive light with fresh water after each dive.
- Store your dive light in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Protect it from knocks or scratches.
- Inspect the O-rings for any possible damage and check for cuts, wear or deterioration. If necessary remove and wash them with fresh water, apply a minimum amount of silicone grease.
- Inspect the contacts of the battery and clean them, if it is necessary, with a cleaning brush.
- If you are not going to use the flashlight for a long time, store the batteries separately and half-charged. Remember to check their charge every three months.
Accessories
- Rinse after each dive with fresh water.
- Dry in a shady place.
- Store your accessories in a dry, cool and shady place.
Bags
- When necessary rinse your bags in fresh water with some mild soak detergent.
- Let it dry completely and do not expose to the sun.
- Once dry, store it in a dry and dark and shady place.
Spearguns
- Rinse your speargun in fresh water after each immersion in salt water.
- Let it dry completely and do not expose to the sun.
- Once dry, store it in a dry and dark and shady place.
- Make sure the rubber(s) are not deformed and without any tension.
